  • ROV Student Scholarships
    The ROV Scholarship fund, established in 1994 by Drew Michel, makes grants annually to MTS student members interested in ROVs or work that supports the use of ROVs. Since that date, over $70,000 has been awarded to deserving MTS student members. Currently there are four awards: one at $5,000, one at $2,500 and two at $1,250 each.

    The application for the ROV scholarship must be postmarked no later than April 15. Please send application packages to:

    The package should include the following:
    1. Application checklist
    2. Name
    3. Address
    4. Phone
    5. Email
    6. Biography
    7. Official transcript verifying GPA and full time status
    8. One page essay of your interest in ROVs or underwater work which furthers the use of ROVs
    9. Three personal references, names and phone numbers required
    10. Recommendation from a current teacher/counselor.

  • Marine Technology Society Charles H. Bussmann Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships
    These awards range up to $2,500 for MTS student-members enrolled full time in a marine-related field; [download application here.]
  • Marine Technology Society Student Scholarship
    These awards range up to $2,000 for non-MTS and MTS student-member undergraduates and graduate students enrolled full time in a marine-related field, as well as high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program; [download application here.]
  • John C. Bajus Scholarship
    These awards range up to $1,000 for MTS student-member undergraduates and graduate students enrolled full time in a marine-related field and who have shown a commitment to community service and/or volunteer activities; [download application here.]
  • Paros-Digiquartz Scholarship
    These awards range up to $2,000 for students with an interest in marine instrumentation; MTS student members; non-MTS student members; undergraduates and graduate students enrolled full time in an academic institution; and high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program; [download application here.]
  • Dieter Family MTS Student Travel Scholarship
    Full student registration and up to $500 for travel-related expenses at specified conferences for MTS student members; undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full time in a marine-related field; [download application here.]
